The North Carolina Fraser Fir is
resistant to shipping stresses, temperature
fluctuations, has excellent needle retention, a
wonderful aroma, and a beautiful deep green color.
It is quickly becoming the nation’s premier
Christmas tree. Here are some tips to keep your Fraser Fir looking beautiful and
smelling great all season.
-
Before setting up your tree,
make a fresh cut, taking about ¼ to ½ inch off
of the trunk.
-
A tree can use up to a quart of
water per day for each inch of trunk diameter.
Temperature and humidity can affect the amount
of water needed by the tree.
-
Be sure to check all lights and
connections before decorating your tree. Never
use lights with worn or frayed cords, and never
use lighted candles on your tree.
-
Do not overload electrical
outlets.
-
Place the tree away from
fireplaces or other heat sources, as they can
prematurely dry out your tree.
-
Always turn off all lights and
decorations before going to bed or leaving home.
Following these guidelines can help
your Fraser Fir last longer and ensure you and your
family have a safe and happy holiday season.
